Here are some ways to get Crimea: via Kiev, Istanbul or Frankfurt.
1.Via Kiev. All International flights arrive at the airport
Borispol which located about 30 km from downtown. In Summer
time there are some flights from Borispol to Simferopol (mainly
later in the evening), but most domestic flights leave from another
airport called Zhulhany which is in another (opposite) part
of the city so you have to go there through downtown. There are
different ways to get Zhulyany - you can choose a bus, a taxi
or a car. A bus could cost about $2 and takes you to central
square "Plocsha Pobedy" where you have to take another
bus (N9) to get to Zhulyany. You should be prepared that
only a few people can answer you in English.
When you get out from the Custom area you will see a crowd of taxi-drivers
which will try to catch you so it's absolutely not a problem to
find a taxi. The prices can be very different, but never less than
$20. If you are lucky a taxi-driver will speak English a little
bit, but mostl likely not. Most safe and fast way - to have prior
arrangements with somebody who does speak English and can meet and
drive you to Zhulyany. It could be the best even if it will
cost you $10-15 more. (Total of $35.00 to $45.00) There are many
domestic flights from Zhulyany every day, but the schedule can be
little bit different every month. You can get current info about
the flights and order a ticket by e-mail.
The ticket cost will cost from about $70-90.00 one-way
depending upon the company and the class. The time to get Simferopol
is about 2 hours.
You can also take a train from Kiev to Simferopol.
