Hiking can be enjoyed year round
in the Crimea. The northern slopes are not very steep, gently rising
to the plateau.
The southern coast is very popular tourist area due
to its beauty. The cliffs rise abruptly from the water to the
height of 2000, 3000, and even 4000 feet, and are crowned with dream-like
domes, pyramids, and spires of rock.
Three ranges of mountains run parallel with the southern and
eastern coasts, culminating in Roman Kosh, a peak which rises
5,060 feet above the sea level, and is surrounded by other peaks between
3000 and 4000 feet in height. |
